Plastered Splicer
From BioShock Wiki
The Plastered Splicers are a Splicer model covered in plaster. They are disguised as Sander Cohen's human statues and appear only in the Fort Frolic level. These splicers can be creepy as they attack in silence, unlike the other Splicers which scream and talk to themselves constantly.
The Plastered Splicers first appear after the player uses the Power to the People machine in the basement of Sinclair Spirits in Fort Frolic. Right after the machine is used, a Plastered Splicer spawns behind the player. Apparently, this is the same Splicer that was sitting in the chair by the stairwell when the player entered the room. After this point, nearly all the statues found in Poseidon Plaza will disappear, and Plastered Splicers will then spawn constantly throughout the level.
Most of the Plastered Splicers have the same combat style as Spider Splicers, climbing on the ceiling and throwing hooks at the player. Though they are not any more dangerous than other Spider Splicers in theory, they are completely silent, love to come out of the shadows, and often appear almost out of nowhere, making them very frightening at times. Some Plastered Splicers will spawn where the player is not looking and remain posed until the player gets close before leaping into action.
In the flooded basement room in Poseidon Plaza filled with dressmaker's models, Plastered Splicers will occasionally knock over the models and stand in their place.
Interestingly, the Plastered Splicers appear to be hostile to other Splicers in the level by default. The player can sometimes see a Plastered Splicer battling a regular Spider Splicer.
[edit] Trivia
- Upon examination, these Splicers appear to use a modified version of the model used for some dated female corpses seen around Rapture.
