Tonic Slotedit
From BioShock Wiki
- For locations of which machines sell this upgrade, see List of Gatherer's Garden prices.
Tonic Slots are an upgrade available at a Gatherer's Garden which allow the player to equip one more Gene tonic per purchased Slot.
[edit] BioShock
The player begins the game with two Slots in each track. Each track's Slots can be extended separately by purchasing different slot upgrades from Gatherer's Garden machines found during the exploration of Rapture. Each of the slots cost 80 ADAM and, not unlike Plasmid Slot upgrades, the price does not change. Identically to the Plasmid Slot line, the maximum is six per track. The player starts with two Tonic Slots available per Tonic type, meaning the player can purchase a maximum of twelve Tonic Slots, four per track. On the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, an achievement and a trophy is unlocked for acquiring all of the slots in a track. In this game, three different types of Slot can be purchased, each pertaining to its own Tonic type:
- Physical Tonic Slots.
- Engineering Tonic Slots.
- Combat Tonic Slots.
[edit] BioShock 2
Tonic Slots return as a purchasable upgrade. However, the price has been decreased to 25 ADAM. There are no longer any distinction between Tonic Types either, although the player still starts out with six Tonic Slots already available and can purchase twelve more to bring the total up to eighteen.
