She followed in her father's footsteps and chose a military career for herself.[]

Not sure what universe this is in but its not US History - women were not allowed in the military at that time.

Only way might be by pretending to be a man.

Maybe she joined after coming to Columbia ?

If you already had the answer, why bothering posting here? That character doesn't look old enough to have been part of the military before Columbia seceded. Also she's not the only female in Columbia's army. Pauolo (talk) 11:57, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

Because it doesnt explain and it might not be the answer.   Is there any statements anywhere more specifiic details?
Also who says people didnt come to Columbia after it seceded ?? Or even right upto the minute before Booker got there ??
'not only female in Columbias army' is irrelevant to this issue.   The 'pretending to be a man' is mentioned as thats the only way it could happen in the US Military -- which the article seems to allege 'she chose a military career'  BEFORE she came to Columbia

Then edit the page yourself if that's what really bothers you, instead of wasting my time here to prove a point which I knew already. And once again sign your posts. Pauolo (talk) 15:07, July 4, 2014 (UTC)

Once again, someone's being overly critical of common expressions or offering overly complicated solutions to uneeded problems.
"She followed in her father's footsteps and chose a military career for herself" in no way states that she had a military post before living in Columbia, just tjat she took up armed service like her dad did.

In 1911, at the April 10th muster, Vivian was deeply honored when Slate took notice[]

From Cornelius_Slate "When Slate confronted Comstock on the matter, he was stripped of his rank and branded a liar. "

When did this ^^^ happen (it mustve been after  1911 April 10th...)   which seems rather late unless  Comstock's Hall of Heroes museum (with the content that so outraged Slate) did not at that late a date come into being.

Think I Found Her[]

I was playing Burial at Sea - Episode 2 and reached the part where Liz goes back to Columbia. And where you get the Fitzroy Voxophone, I see a "Vox Female". I knocked her out, searched her body, and then realized this "Vox Female" looks like a Founders G.I. Jane, with the only difference being she has a painted cross on her shirt.

If you ask me, I think it's her. 190.189.47.132 06:47, December 1, 2014 (UTC)

BioShock Infinite went through a particularly lazy (in my opinion) route by not creating drawn portraits like had been done in the previous games. Instead that simply took a picture of different character models, recolored them a little, and used them for the Voxophone portraits.
Note how Constance Field looks like the generic female child citizen, Harrison Powell looks like a generic surgeon model encountered in Comstock House, or how Preston E. Downs' portrait uses the same model as Scofield Sansmark. They probably made a female solider model for combat and also used it to stand in for Vivian Monroe's portrait. Bottom line, it's impossible to say for certain or for not that that is Vivian Monroe.

I reloaded the checkpoint several times. She always spawns the very same. Same model, same cross. And even though she plays "Vox Female" lines, she is clearly always the same Caucasian female counted among the Vox Populi (I've seen Asian guys, Irish guys, black guys, and the women I presume are black ladies (given those encountered in BSI's main campaign) wearing a Statue of Liberty look-a-like mask with a red shawl over it). The painted cross in particular is what leads me to believe that's Vivian Monroe. A denial of her Founder past life.
As for the portraits, the point was for them to look like old-time photographs, hence the use of character models. Else you end up with a disconnect between the character and his Audio Diary/Voxophone portrait. You need look no further than BS1/BaS Atlas. The use of "citizen" models explains itself: time and resource management. No point in creating a unique portrait/model for a character that's not gonna even cross paths with Booker and Liz . Less so when your game's been delayed several times and key devs jump ship. 190.189.47.132 15:56, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
Aaaaand it seems there was another "Crossed-Founder-female-turned-Vox" hangoing around outside close to the barge: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=3EDCD744F00F946B!202&authkey=!ADQdBUKFIGea70s&v=3&ithint=photo%2cpng
And turns out the Vox ladies, upon closer inspection, are Irish. So nevermind. 190.189.47.132 17:44, December 1, 2014 (UTC)
