If there are 'no laws' then who enforces a 'contract' ?

Proposing a whole city operate the same way just shows that the writers dont know or dont care. And since its all a collaboration then it could be both.

Fontaine's many criminal acts, the murder, extortion, smuggling, shooting at City authorities.

Simple example of Fontaine NOT believing in "Free Man Free Markets", acting against it.

Of course those are things that would be self explanitory  of why Fontaines Assets were seized by the City.

Keeping the ADAM flowing also is not  stated (elsewhere mentioned - riots on just a rumor of insufficient ADAM supplies) - such a simple statement to explain ...  


Few people would side with Fontaine with that spelled out.  Since Atlas uses 'nationalization/seizing  as one of his arguments (and Fontaine as a martyr )  that would kind of knock the legs out from under that part of the story too.
