Glasses[]
Look at his image.
Do those glasses look period appropriate for 1912? I get the feeling Mr. Mumford's picture was intended for a Rapture citizen instead of a Columbia one since those look more like the 50's style.

The large irregular shape is probably pretty wrong (round/oval was most common because it could be turned instead of cast blanks like they use today).
Google picture of Theodore Roosevelt....
The frame looks variable thickness (like plastic) when if metal would be uniform if not also clip on edge type more typical of that era.
They did have horn rimmed glasses, so its probably the atypical shape/size of the lenses
