Civil war[]

The E3 2011 trailer seems to show more of a state of civil war in Columbia (Vox openly murdering people), which would have clashed with the depiction of the police state number of troops seen existing in the game (which Booker/Player faces).

The level (Emporia) also look way less dramatic than in the final build of the game. I'm not even sure we had any depiction of Columbia's police and army so far in the trailers. It was mostly citizens assaulting the protagonist, not a police authority. Pauolo (talk) 12:03, February 18, 2016 (UTC)

They talk about the rewriting/redirection/downsizing (several times) of the games story lines over in the 2K forums, but it mightv'e been a more interesting game (with more choices/decisions/actions to the player) of playing the two factions off against each other (instead of a straightforward  shoot-anything-that-moves player experience).   Avoidance and reading the situation and causing distractions to get past things could have been very superior gamewise.

We're sharing the same feelings here. Frankly I mostly blame the limitations of the PS3/Xbox 360 consoles. Reading about how the developers struggled to make a seemingly playable demo for E3 because the hardware couldn't handle it angers me a lot. That said, perhaps the developers had too much ideas or did not know where they were going with them. Or perhaps they should have spent less time making Elizabeth 'as real as possible' and built their game world better and more detailed. Pauolo (talk) 19:02, February 21, 2016 (UTC)
