Trivia/Exploit[]

Trivia[]

It is possible with noclip and god mode to go through the glass and adopt/harvest an otherwise "unreachable" Little Sister in the first ocean sequence. She is guarded by a Rumbler, which at this point in the game can kill Delta no problem even with 5 Health Kits and 5 EVE Hypos on his side (This is on Hard, it may be possible on other difficulties). Turn on god mode, noclip through the glass display, electrocute the Rumbler and then melee it with the drill for the damage bonus. Once he falls, adopt/harvest this "extra" Little Sister. Use the Little Sister detector and she will point to a body in that same hallway (but if you try to harvest from it, she will disappear), making it possible that this was a training area meant to teach players how to defeat a Big Daddy and utilize the Little Sister. There is even a vent right in the area where she can be rescued for 80 ADAM. Don't wait too long, or the Rumbler and Little Sister will unspawn once they reach the end of the "hallway".

I removed the preceding paragraph from the article since it is mostly just anecdotal and not related to the game as most people will play it. ~Gardimuer 15px-Physical_Tonic.svg.png ʈalk } 06:47, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Easter Egg[]

I found one. To see it you have to be on your first ocean walk and when you pass the whale skeleton and jump down to the place where the draining system is, as soon as you jump down look behind you and look up and you can see the face of a man. I think it's an Easter Egg so could someone confirm. 'Double CHi 19:43, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

hey this is my first talk well anyways i played bioshock 2 yestarday and when i fought the big sister in the resort area and see her later i think i heard the big sister make a clanking weird creepy laugh is this the big sister really laughing or was it just metal scraping?

Page title and the (Level) added to the title[]

Should the page titles of the game levels have the:- (Level) added onto the end of the main title?

eg. Adonis Luxury Resort OR Adonis Luxury Resort (Level)

Some did have the (Level) added and some did not.

If the:- (Level) is to be added as standard, I will add the (Level) for the level pages in BioShock. Aquawiki (talk) 02:42, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

The (Level) tag is only added in cases where there is more than one page with the same name. For instance, Pauper's Drop (Level) and Pauper's Drop (Audio Diary). In this case there is no other page with the name "Adonis Luxury Resort", so there is no need for the added suffix. ~Gardimuer 15px-Combat_Tonic.png ʈalk } 03:11, October 3, 2012 (UTC)

Would someone put up a map with the locations of the Audio Diaries, Plasmids, Gene Tonics, and all the rest of that? --ZanyDragon (talk) 22:05, April 6, 2014 (UTC)

Spoilers being a worry -- ON this Wiki ??[]

'Dying' vs 'being shot'  -   is the content of these pages being a 'spoiler' supposed to be an issue?

The whole Wiki is a spoiler at all different levels - you'd have to wipe out most of it for giving away details as minor as Delta dying at the start of the BS2 story...

People dont come to a wiki about a game if they are worried about being exposed to "spoilers".

So if thats the policy here, you have awful alot of deleting to begin -  immediately excising all "spoilers".

(what would be left of it ?)

You might want to lower your tone when it comes to wiki policy, unless you want to compare it to yours.
What unownshipper was saying was that we avoid to put spoilers in a page's introduction as long possible, and in order to keep it short. Though in the present case I don't think there's need to keep vague about Bio2's introduction. Pauolo (talk) 07:12, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Seriously 75.36.137.88, if you don't think the word choice is necessary, just say so. You don't need to get up on your high horse.

Unownshipper (talk) 22:29, March 9, 2015 (UTC)

Seriously. Your reason (you wrote) for the change was a bit odd considering the whole wiki is one big spoiler. If the policy is now *No Spoilers* then it changes everything, no?. The actual change was minor .... shot/killed ... whatever. Is there really a reason to keep supposed 'spoilers' out of the summary lines on the pages? It just seemed very strange.
75.36.141.150 05:10, March 10, 2015 (UTC)

No, the line is not the issue here, it's your condescending tone when speaking to your fellow contributors. You don't need to be so flippant.
Unownshipper (talk) 22:02, March 11, 2015 (UTC)
So you dont think that 'you' (An admin) making such a statement is strange and not significant?   Thats the part that I refer to (with some lousy one liner I added for emphasis ...). 75.36.136.184 05:06, March 12, 2015 (UTC)
Testxyz, please stop. You wanted an answer, we gave you one. We're not going to invent one to satisify whatever you're trying to point out here. Pauolo (talk) 07:22, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

Glowing plants[]

Actually those glowing things aren't "plants", they're animals! At least assuming it's the same sort of ocean there is in real life. You don't have to go too far down before there's basically no light at all, certainly not enough to support photosynthesis. Without that, a plant can't live. All the weird creepy "plant" life clinging on to the floors, walls, and bits of decorative debris underwater, are animals.

They can resemble plants, largely because they live a similar life, ie just stuck there doing nothing all day, occasionally releasing gametes into the water to reproduce the same way plants do with wind. They don't have the energy to do much more, cos they're filter feeders. They filter whatever bits of nutritious detritus manage to fall that far down from above without something else eating them first. It's a poor diet, but as long as they don't spend much energy, it suffices.

Since the seabed under Rapture is at least a few dozen stories deep, as you can tell from the buildings, none of which break the surface, that means there are NO plants growing around Rapture at all!

Incidentally although the lighthouse is above-surface, it doesn't seem to connect to the sea bed, from paddling toward it I remember it being built upon rocks. Then after that some REALLY WEIRD STUFF happened!
