Moonbeam Absinthe is one of the several different types of drinking alcohol found in Rapture. Alcohol restores Health, but drains EVE. If multiple units are consumed back to back, a short duration of blurry/double vision will occur.
The drink absinthe was popular in the mid 19th century with artists such as Toulouse Lautrec who were involved in the aesthetic and romantic movement in major cities in Europe. The developers of BioShock no doubt used moonbeam absinthe as a character development device for Sander Cohen. Numerous bottles of Moonbeam Absinthe can be found in his private quarters, both in Fort Frolic and in his apartment at Olympus Heights.
The label on the back of the bottle is rendered backwards in game.
Contrary to popular belief, absinthe is not hallucinogenic.
Moonbeam Absinthe is one of the rarest drinks in the series.
