The Major's Notions Sundries and Novelties.

Major's Notions, Sundries and Novelties was a store operated by the Columbian Flag Company in Columbia, located on 762 Ingersoll Lane. The store sold Leonie Brothers brand fireworks, fake gold busts, novelty over-sized Lincoln head masks, large marionette puppets, and various other oddities. This store is only seen in the BioShock Infinite E3 2011 Gameplay Trailer and is not present in-game.

BioShock Infinite E3 2011 Gameplay Trailer[]

In the E3 Gameplay Trailer, Booker DeWitt finds the Bucking Bronco Vigor here, as well as the unstable Nostrum Pot Luck, and a Pistol.

Major's Notions, Sundries and Novelties was closed at some point due to the turmoil in Columbia, and it has since been used as a refuge for someone down on their luck, as can be seen from the mattress and the bottles on the floor beside the sales counter.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The overall design of the store was later used for the gift shop at Battleship Bay, in addition to the Toy Soldiers shop in Soldier's Field.
  • The Songbird searching the area and Elizabeth's plea scenes appear in the finished game upon exiting the Grand Central Depot in Emporia.
  • Most assets and models seen in Major's Notions shop can be found throughout the game in the final version of BioShock Infinite.
    • Some assets that were not used include the Lincoln mask, the pointing souvenirs signs, the vase depicting Thomas Jefferson, what appears to be a cutout depicting a moon with a face, the Security Zeppelin schedule, the Abraham Lincoln marionette, and the blue vase with a long narrow neck.
    • The pine tree figurines seen by the entrance were reused for Jack Frost's Village in Burial at Sea - Episode 1.
  • Judging by the various pieces of Lincoln memorabilia in the store, the demo suggests that Lincoln was viewed as a hero of Columbia in this version of the game, rather than as the "apostate" Comstock portrays him as in the finished game.
