- Main article: BioShock Infinite
When Booker DeWitt comes across a locked door or safe in Columbia, he can ask Elizabeth to take care of it for him. Simple ones can be opened easily with her hairpin, but harder ones will require specific lockpicks.
Burial at Sea - Episode 1Edit
- Main article: Burial at Sea - Episode 1
The lockpicking method in Burial at Sea - Episode 1 is exactly same as in BioShock Infinite. Booker can ask Elizabeth to pick a lock with a hairpin or lockpicks.
Burial at Sea - Episode 2Edit
- Main article: Burial at Sea - Episode 2
During Burial at Sea - Episode 2, the player can finally see the mechanics of lockpicking as, similar to hacking in previous BioShock games, the experience becomes a mini-game. Lockpicking can be used to unlock doors and safes and to disable turrets, but only if the player has the required amount of lockpicks. Elizabeth can acquire Noisemaker Bolts by striking a blue pin during the lockpicking sequence which can be useful later. However, blue pins are often flanked by red alarm pins, making it risky to attempt a blue pin strike.
