"There is something more powerful than each of us, a combination of our efforts, a Great Chain of industry that unites us. But it is only when we struggle in our own interest that the chain pulls society in the right direction..." - Andrew Ryan
Behind the ScenesEdit
- Icarus may be a reference to Project Icarus, the codename that was given by Irrational Games to BioShock Infinite before its name was officially revealed.
- In Greek mythology, Icarus was the son of an inventor named Daedalus. In an attempt to escape Crete, Daedalus and Icarus used his father's winged contraption, made out of feathers and wax, that enabled them to fly away from Crete. During their escape, Daedalus warned Icarus that if they flew too close to the sun the wax would melt. Icarus completely ignored his father's warning and flew too close to the sun, melting the wax off his wings and he fell into the sea, where he drowned.
- The poster was based off an advertisement for the Dominion Line with cruises from Liverpool to Canada.
