Forums: Index > Watercooler > Historical Personalities in Bioshock

Hey. Think it's first time I posted in forums. But anyway I have an idea

The Bioshock series has a lot of references to real-world things and personalities, especially abundant in Bioshock Infinite. I was wondering if we could have a page dedicated to that.

The page would not give a full biography. This isn't wikipedia :P . Instead it'd give a brief description of who/what that person/thing was and how it relates to the Bioshock Universe.

For example, a section could look like this:

Thomas Jefferson[]

Jefferson BSI

A statue of "Father Jefferson" in the Garden of New Eden

Thomas Jefferson was an American statesman, lawyer, and politician who became the Third President in the United States and is considered one of the "Founding Fathers" of the nation. In Columbia, he's worshipped by the Founders along with fellow Founding Fathers George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. He is associated with the "Scroll", as he is hailed as a lawmaker by the Founders. Along with the other worshipped Fathers, his face is used as a mask for Motorized Patriots and Maniacs in Comstock House. His face also appears on Comstock House itself along with Franklin and Washington.

So, would it be okay to create a page like this?

I'd say go for it it is an expansion of the wiki and can help people unfamiliar with american history appreciate the game better.--FossilLord 20:10, May 13, 2014 (UTC)

We have a page for cultural references in each game (see BioShock Cultural References, BioShock 2 Cultural References or BioShock Infinite Cultural References) which you can complete as long as the added subjects are not too long. If people want to check on specific historical figures, they are free to consult wikipedia which treats those subjects in an extensive way. Pauolo (talk) 20:28, May 13, 2014 (UTC)
