Shells are the ammunition used by the Shotgun in BioShock 2. There are three types of shell:

00 Buck Damage: High amount of piercing damage. Effectiveness: Effective against all targets. Price: $40 (base price), $32 (hacked) Availability: Found almost everywhere, from Pauper's Drop onwards.

Phosphorus Buck Damage: Low amount of piercing damage; high amount of fire damage. Effectiveness: Effective against all targets. Damage Bonus: Set off a high amount of combustion, damaging anything nearby. Price: $65 (base price), $52 (hacked) Availability: First appearing in Siren Alley.

“	Phosphorus Buck is an alternate ammunition type for the Shotgun. This powerful buckshot sticks to enemies, causing them to panic, and will explode after a short time.	”

Solid Slug Damage: High amount of piercing damage in the form of a single, solid round. Knocks back targets on impact and can pierce through light cover and Splicers, hitting anything behind. Effectiveness: Effective against all targets. Damage Bonus: Heavy damage dealt, but most effective against Brute Splicers and heavily armored units such as Big Daddies and Security Devices. Price: $60 (base price), $48 (hacked) Availability: First appearing in Dionysus Park.
