Armored Shell is a Gene Tonic featured in BioShock and BioShock 2. It serves to protect the player from physical damage.

Don't be a softie -- use Armored Shell now! ” Effect: Prevents 15% of piercing and bludgeoning damage. Location: First available for purchase from a Gatherer's Garden in the Medical Pavilion. Cost: 20 ADAM

Challenge Rooms

In Worlds of Hurt, Armored Shell can be bought at the Gatherer's Garden in the central hub for 40 ADAM.

Armored Shell 2 “ When the bullets and blows are blasting away, you need all the protection you can get. Armored Shell Two provides more protection than our competitor! ” Effect: Prevents 25% of piercing and bludgeoning damage. Location: Fifth gift for rescuing the Little Sisters.

The two Tonics can be stacked for a 40% protection against piercing and bludgeoning damage.

BioShock 2

Armored Shell “ Useful in any hazardous situation, Armored Shell offers automatic protection against life's bumps and bruises. Don't be a softie -- use Armored Shell now! ” Effect: Reduces physical damage taken. Location: First available for purchase from the second Gatherer's Garden in Ryan Amusements. Cost: 45 ADAM

Minerva's Den

Can be purchased for 45 ADAM in all Gatherer's Gardens.

Don't be a softie -- use Armored Shell 2 now! ” Effect: Further reduces physical damage taken. Location: Obtained by researching Brute Splicers to the maximum level.
