"There is something more powerful than each of us, a combination of our efforts, a Great Chain of industry that unites us. But it is only when we struggle in our own interest that the chain pulls society in the right direction..."Andrew Ryan

Dr. Hollcroft's business in Skid Row

"All the restorative power of genuine ADAM, at half the price! Step right up!"
James Hollcroft[src]

Dr. Hollcrofts was a front for Dr. James Hollcroft's medicinal cures housed out of a defunct Reliable Pharmacy. Located on Skid Row in Pauper's Drop, the former pharmacy was converted to manufacture and dispense Doc Hollcroft's Cure-All.

"Convenience and fair prices, the Ryan way!"

Reliable Pharmacy serviced the medical needs of the poor living in Skid Row. After patients visited Fontaine Clinics just up the road, they could get their prescription processed here.

Its specialty was dealing with nitrogen narcosis. Not to be confused with "the bends" or decompression sickness, nitrogen narcosis can occur by continuously breathing in gases under high pressure (such as being underwater). Symptoms include alterations in consciousness similar to drunkenness and impairments of judgement, coordination, and decision-making ability. Other names include the "Martini effect" and "raptures of the deep".

BioShock 2Edit

By the time Subject Delta enters Skid Row, Reliable Pharmacy has long been out of business. With the addition of a hastily scrawled banner, it is now Dr. Hollcrofts, and was used as a location to produce the doctor's own patented medicine.

The front desk is littered with bottles of the tonic while the backroom contains the weighing and distilling apparatus. Upon entering the store, a pair of Splicers will appear from outside and attempt to corner Subject Delta. There is a hole in the back wall allowing Subject Delta to access Harold Parson's bookstore next door by hacking the control panel.

A makeshift walkway connects the apartment complex to the pharmacy's rooftop. Using it gains Subject Delta access to a small room with an audio diary, some supplies, and a Rivet Gun. The roofing has partially collapsed into the reception area below.
