Bot Shutdown Panel

From BioShock Wiki

A Bot Shutdown Panel as it appears in the game.

A Bot Shutdown Panel is a machine that will, for a $20 fee, stop the flying, shooting Security Bots that the player may encounter after tripping the security system (generally by being spotted by an unhacked Security Camera). The presence of a Bot Shutdown Panel is a clue that the player will soon encounter a camera. It is unknown why would Andrew Ryan allow the installation of such unorthodox devices, but it can be assumed it was to make a small profit - or simply for gameplay. (Note: Bot Shutdown Panel cannot be hacked). However, there is a possibility that the panel exists for scenarios in which Security Bots turn on their owners or malfunction. Thus, providing a safe nonviolent way to quell the chaos.

[edit] Trivia

  • In the earlier version of BioShock, Bot Shutdown Panels would be deactivated through ADAM.[citation needed]
